Dan Gurney Riverside 500 winner from 1968. Dan Gurney won the first 4 "Motor Trend 500" races at Riverside Raceway. They were true 500 mile races on a road course that averaged less than 100 mph per lap. Long hard day! The 68 win was Dan's fifth and final Riverside 500 win. Model ia a modified Polar Lights kit of a 69 Talladega back dated to a 68 Torino. Grill and front bumper are resin pieces from The Modelhaus, Ford emblem removed from grill. Paint is Tamiya Pure White and Tamiya Dark Mica Blue. Decals are from the latest Powerslide Wood Brothers sheet.

Bill: We have a winner! Gurney teaching the NASCAR boys about road course racing. I wonder if he was called a “road course ringer?” Polar Lights kits aren’t for sissies…you did an outstanding job! Please keep up the good work! Tim

Great job, Bill. The nose looks spot on with the update looks seemless. The paint and decals are a sharp combo. Good job on the details and the tires look aggressive.
Riverside was a great track! This build brings back good memories of me running NASCAR Riverside in the NR2003 GN70 mod. Man, that was 15 years ago or so!!
