It’s been awhile since I posted a thread, the last being my Foyt build up in 2016 and Gurney Eage detaiing of the Cox Tether car. I bought this glue bomb 67 Indy Turbine years ago as the original unbuilt kits were way out of my price range. Disassembled and bagged with the instructions! But as I’m finding out some key parts are missing and other need detailed. The engine was basic and I’ve been using Alcad on the engine. A little white primer in the Alcad makes a very realistic looking aluminum on the engine and differentials. It dulls it down in the heated area versus the other sections. Adding the photo etched mesh add a lot more plus I’m adding as many metals lines as is possible. Challenges to continue as I move to the chassis.

The chassis is basic and reminds me of a Lotus Elan frame, frog like shape. The reference photos show a third engine mount in the middle which I added to the engine. I detailed the suspension pieces adding different metalized colors and some braded lines, but will be hard to see. I found out one of the rear upper A-arms was missing so I made a replacement out of Plastistruct rod. Then when working on the front the whole upper suspension piece was missing so I had to make two upper arms plus the linkage to the springs. Here they are before painting. Plastistruct hex rod adds a little detail to the ends. More as the painting moves along.

Any updates on this build? I have wanted to build this kit for some time- the prices for usable kits on eBay that I have found are outside my budget. A finished diecast is more affordable (opening myself up for flames by saying that).

I'm a little slow working and simultaneously working the 36 Miller-Ford by Oval Track Legends. It took some time balancing my ignorance on how a turbine is wired, photos and scaling limits. Here are a couple shots with the chassis about done. Seatbelts are giving me fits right now and starting into the body work.
