Got a few questions. I'm going to build the AMT Bobby Unser Eagle, but I want to make it the 75 winning car. Will Michael's 75 decals fit the model even though it's AMT and not MPC? Also, what would the color codes be for this car for paint, Tamiya and Testers depending on what I can find? I know there are two different colors of blue on the car. I would also like to know what the spark plug wires are made of for the engine and where I can buy them. I've been trying to find copper rods for rear axles, but haven't been able to find them either. Can anyone post detailed pics of their car / engine so I can get an idea of colors for the engine pieces and idea's? Last, when I prime the car, should I go with gray or white and where can I get the seat belts? Thanks to all for the help.

The dark blue - wing plates only - would be TS15. When using Tamiya sprays, always use white primer unless you want to darken the color of the paint - Tamiya paints are very translucent and the slightest difference in shade of the underlying primer will show through. Yes, my decals will work. Your hobby shop should carry copper tubing.

Thanks Michael, I just ordered the decals. Does the decal sheet come with the tire markings? What do you use for spark plug wires? Also Does anyone have a rear set of solid wheels that would fit this model, plastic preferably? I don't like the ones that came with it, they're split wheels? Thanks

Lance Sellers makes great resin tires for these cars. Most hobby shops carry the correct wire for spark plugs. It's also sometimes available on E Bay, or try Radio Shack for small wire.

I used Michael's decals on mine. I think I had to shorten some of the stripes a bit, but nothing bad at all. I'd probably stick with his paint recommendations as well, but for the record I used Testors on mine, IIRC the light blue from the little square bottle darkened with just a few drops of dark blue, with Testors dark blue on the endplates. I didn't detail the engine, so sorry no help there!

Hey R.T.! What I do when I build one of the mid 1970's Eagles is get tires from a newer Indy car kit, like the late 80's version......throw the lousy split tire away, use the newer ones. Also.....detailing the engine is easier than you think. You may need to find an old Hungness Indy Yearbook, Carl is a wackadoodle, but his yearbooks always had good detail photos. This is a short of my model of the 1973 Winner which sits in the display at the Hall of Fame Meuseum....hey, if I can do it, you can too. Best to you and best of luck! Russ
