I started my build... er, rebuild of the Entex 1/8 Lotus 72D I got from Brian (hurtubise56) and was wanting to spruce it up a bit.
Anyone know where I can find 1/8 braided hose and fittings? I've tried RBMotion, Detail Master, MacsModeling.... no joy so far. If anyone knows what size a 1/8 fitting would be, I might be able to source them from RBMotion.

Not everything you're looking for, and a little pricey, but this place has some 1/8 scale stuff: www.bestbalsakits.com/tamiya/search.asp?searchFor=1%2F8&Submit=search+the+site. As far as braided lines and fittings, Plastruct has hex styrene rod in useful sizes, and craft braid (sometimes called metallic cord) can be used to simulate lines, comes in a lot of sizes. A little too shiny as-is but a little Dul-Cote or paint takes care of that. There is also hex brass tubing, I think this comes in larger sizes than the styrene rod, and has the advantage of being hollow and ability to be soldered. Some 12 & 14 ga. solid copper Romex wire might work for the round parts of the fittings and can be bent to make elbows. Hope this helps! |

Wim at Best Balsa does have high prices but I can vouch for his reputation - I have been working with him for years and he is a great guy.
