I noticed during the race that Direct TV may not show the last 2 races this year due to a contract with versis. Another brilliant move by the IRL.

Yeah, it was really annoying seeing that graphic constantly running at the bottom of the screen.

If all else fails, the races are available via torrents

One would think that VS would offer HD in the Indianapolis area. We have cable and don't get VS HD. I can't imagine how the IRL could let things like that slip through the cracks but they do.

It is just stupid to sign a contract with someone, without knowing that the fans that only have access to your races on direct TV might not be able to see the last 2 races of the season. I know that we can see them via the internet ( at additional cost), but that's not the point.

Being on Versus is not good IMHO - I miss more races on TV this year because it's not on ESPN, Speed, or another major channel. Maybe they should go back to buying time on ESPN, ESPN2, or Speed!?

I think this can go in either this thread or the "making Indy Car better" thread but having a good TV package is imperative if you want to showcase the series. Everyone gets ABC, NBC, CBS. Not so much VS. Even less if they and DirecTV don't hash out an agreement and quick. Once again the fans (dwindling I'm sure) lose. Maybe 2010 will be better. G

I hate comcast, Always did and always will. My Grandma has comcast and they treat her like crap.

DirecTV's page on this was an interesting read. Hard to get rivals to play well with each other I guess. Anyone is welcome at my house to watch the races on my Time Warner cable - the digital box stinks but I at least get the channel!
