Wish I had some pictures for you. Think it was a lovely car. There’s video out there of his qualifying run. Man that thing screams. Shame they got bumped.

The best part of that video was hearing Tom Carnegie and Jim Philippi on the PA. I miss them both

I took these at the 1985 Indy 500, where Steve Chassey failed to qualify the Genesee Beer Wagon. I remember the red to be metallic. Hope they are helpful.

I actually think the opening in the engine cover is for the headers or intake trumpets - the normally aspirated cars didn't have pop off valves, if I remember correctly. If Chassey had not been bumped, the car would have been the only non-turbo car in the field.

Man that’s one pretty car. It’s too bad they couldn’t stick it in the show.

What a beautiful car. I miss all of the different color and shapes of the numbers back then. Cars are too sanitary today. Terry

That big hole on the rear cover....think "naturally aspirated"... I think if you look at the pic on the net side shot and the one pic I found on ebay..(look over Steve's shoulder on the rear cowl) That my boys, is a big ol carburetor and classic oval air cleaner poking out.. Can you just imagine this thing just starting up? WOW!

Can you just imagine this thing just starting up? WOW! I don’t know anything about this car but the team had some pretty deep roots with sprint car and dirt champ car racing. Wouldn’t surprise me if the car was mechanically fuel injected with intake stacks, and what you’re seeing is just the cover of one bank of tall air cleaner. I don’t know. Just guessing. I know Steve at one point qualified his Indycar with his dirt champ car engine. Just another idea
