Looks like Duane missed this one, and so will Tim. My son-in-law has said that getting shot at and missed is a great feeling. So far, so good for you guys. I hope it continues.

The eye is supposed to go near my by house today. The forecast is for sustained 80-100 MPH winds for about 14 hours. Therefore, spent yesterday reorganizing storage to bring inside anything not nailed down to reduce flying debris. We have large trees and an old roof, so we left last night to ride out the storm in Houston.
We knew Ida was bad when the natives were nervous.
Left all the racing, hobby, etc stuff behind so hoping it is there when I can return. Praying for safety for those riding it out.

On night shifts over here in the UK and saw the first reports on the severity of the storm in the small hours.
Thoughts turned to Jordan and all the other folk who will be affected.
We have no concept here. Just hope all is as well as could be with Jordan and all of you affected. My thoughts are with you.

I couldn't image 80 to 100 mph winds. Here in the Evergreen state, if we get 40-60 mph winds we have trees falling over.

Boy...that's for sure. The Peninsula ( Gig Harbor, Port Orchard, Bremerton, Belfair, Poulsbo. to name a few) Get it bad. A lot of trees in those areas. Not as bad in Tacoma though.

My daughter and her family live in Madisonville, which is just north of Lake Pontchartrain and New Orleans. Sounds like that area is being hit pretty hard. Thankfully, they evacuated to Houston yesterday.

Paul, any word from your daughter on their house?
Thank you all for the prayers. My house was spared from any bad damage. Lots of limbs down and no power for the last 24+ hours so the fridge/freezer contents could be a total loss if not online soon. Overall, I am still very fortunate.
Waiting to see what the local schools choose to do on when to head home.
Keep praying for those in the path of the storm.

From what my daughter hears from neighbors and family that stayed, it does sound like they had some property damage and lost a big tree, but their house is intact. They had a lot of water in the yard, but did not get into the house. As I told her, your friends and family is safe. Everything else can be rebuilt.
