A very sad day. Turns out what killed him is what got my Mom 12 years ago. The Racer article with the tributes is touching. I had to go see what Despain said on Twitter because man I loved WindTunnel.
I agreed with Miller more often than not and his Dinner with Racers is one of the few I have wanted to listen to again more than once. Glad he got to see how much he was regarded at IMS last weekend.
I only met the man once. He was darting across the infield around the pagoda four or so years ago late in a day leading up to the 500 when I yelled his name and flagged him down. I saw he was in a hurry plus I do not have a way with words so I shook his hand and told him to keep doing what he was doing, that we the fans appreciated it.

As I said on Facebook, he was loved and hated, respected and despised, often by the same person at one time. But no matter what you thought of him, nobody got the story like he did. There will never be another like him. RIP Robin.

I'll definitely miss him as I liked his style. I liked hearing the honest truth.

That's terrible, sad news. Robin was a good race car driver and even better journalist. Very sad day.
