What 43rd scale kit(s) have these rims? Tried searching previous builds on here and not all have side views. Looks like maybe the Ampersand 86C has them. Trying to find out all the options out there. Jordan

All of the Tameo ones have them. You get a rim and a photo etched insert for the wheel center. I don’t think anyone has them in like a true concave shape like the real ones. But they do work and look just fine at 1/43 scale.

If you just need a set of the Tameo Indy car wheels and tires Macs has them in stock according to his site.

Mike, thank you. I found PE inserts in the PC18 kit but ironically not the PC17 (as shown above). It is a definite possibility on how to build the car. Looks like Ampersand has the rim in the 86C but from the pictures on Google it might be PE, too.
Anyone know if this rim comes in non-PE form? Maybe an 86C kit?

Hi Jordan These are the rims from the Ampersand March 86C. As you can see they are cast in white metal and have the concave surface of the spokes. The fronts are a perfect match, while the openings in the rears may be a bit too angular, but I doubt if that will be noticeable. Unfortunately I don't have any chromed rims, but I'll be happy to send you a set like the ones in the pictures if you can use them. Bo

The SMTS March 86c (Rahal, Budweiser) kit has these wheels in a Chrome finish. Not sure if you can still get them, but I'd try emailing the company, as well as contacting 4 Small Wheels. 4SW has gotten me wheels from older kits with no problems, but never for an SMTS kit.
Good Luck!

Indy, which actual care are you wanting the build? Just asking because for the PC17, depending on the stage of the race, they had different wheel on the car. Some had the 3 holes, and I think they ,any have even used the 5 hole version as well. I have some spare Tameo sets without the outer cover, I would be glad to send you.

First off, thank you everyone for your help and taking time to share your knowledge. That is one of the reasons I love it here. Bo, that is very kind of you. Those fronts look spot on and are the rears are workable. Let email you. I want some kits from you anyway so those can just ride in the box with postage paid my me. Woody, I am wanting to do the Mears PC17 as it ran most of the 500 (cool down lap pic below and day after above). I cannot recall seeing the PC17 at Indy in 1988 with 5 holes, let me know if you have any references showing it. Keep the parts for now, I am going after the one piece rims first. I think I have the same parts between the PC17 & PC18 kits on hand. Thank you for your offer. I will let you know if something changes. Very generous, much appreciated. Jordan

indy, after checking again, I stand corrected. The only time it seems the PC-17 shows up with 5 hole rims seems to be the museum car and show car. As a matter of fact, both the PC-17 and PC-19 that appear in the special Mears exhibit at IMS museum currently are both equipped with the 5 hole variety.
