Someone on E-Bay was selling a Louie Meyer Replicarz with the correct tire and number markings. Question how do you remove the black and white numbers. I got the tire decals on just need to remove the old numbers. I have tried Goo Gone with no results.

Goo Gone won't do it. I'll need to check my diecast model of that car to see if they put clear over the decals. You don't want to use anything that will destroy the underlying finish. Careful sanding may be the solution, but you would still need to avoid sanding the surrounding paint, as you could sand through.

I got the tire decals on just need to remove the old numbers. I have tried Goo Gone with no results. Use a product called Goof Off. You can get at Home Depot or Lowes. Dip a little on a rag and wipe. It will not hurt the paint or resin at all and the decal will come right off. DO NOT SAND IT!!! I use a little car wax afterwards but you do not have too. I am telling you it works great! |

Jmho, i have used the goof off. It works. I certainly dont have Stu's experience but i found a conservative amount on a rag gets the job done. I didnt go heavy with it. If Stu wants to add his comment, then i'd go with his advice. But i used it lightly and it works. Worked well.

Thank you again tried the Goof-Off tonight and it worked great. Stu, I know you have taken a lot of Carousel One cars apart question how do you remove the front wheels from the pin? It is for the 1974 Mario Andretti Viceroy car. Thanks again for the help very much appreciated.
