The whole thing stinks. I never thought he should have come back but going back on his previous statements is... off putting. So does this mean Fernando to Ferrari? Or some other crazy mid-season silly season possiblity? Jordan

He had nothing to gain and a lot to loose. When you retire, stay retired. Go out on top and don't look back. Too many drivers stick around long past their prime. Their is always the desire to prove that you are still the best, but it usually does not work out. I think we may see Alonso in a red car before next year.

Well.....this is a more intelligent move.
Remember what happened to Jimmy Bryan...He came back for one more race at his "favorite track", Langhorne.......Sadly, it was his last.
Best to you

I was thinking along similar lines when this mess started Russ. Once you are retired - stay that way. Too many Bryans, Donohue's, etc out there that died after returning to the driver's seat post-retirement
Overall, it was the right call but the count me in, count me out was annoying IMHO
