Hey chaps.
Hope all well you all of you.
Is it me or are we all in some kind of holding pattern waiting for the next decent F1 plastic model kit to come along? Interestingly, I have heard Italeri are going to revive a (ex Protar?) 1/12 McLaren from 1986.
How many have waited so blasted long for the Nunu 1/20th MP4/2c to finally arrive?
Like that Italeri have re issued Lancia and Porsche Prototypes from the mid 80s and am so hoping those Ferrari T3s T5s and 126 C2s in 1/12 see the light of day again. The old Protar and Heller kits but maybe with better wheels and tires.
But find it odd that they picked this subject just as the 1/20th scale version is about to hit the shelves....

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Ferrari's come back... if licensing isn't a problem. But I have to say the 956 short tail they came out with is one of the worst kits I've ever seen. Better getting a Tamiya 956 and Calvin's short tail conversion.

Agreed. From what I can see they are simply releasing from the original molds or patterns. Woulda been nice to see them may look at the product and improve on a couple of things.
But I would forgive em if those Ferraris did surface again.
Also wonder if some of the mid 80s 1/24 F1 stuff will return.....

I suspect they might have bought all the Protar stuff. I wouldn't be surprised to seee the 1/24 stuff. I have the 1/24 MP4 2C and it's a nice kit, I was just never motivated to finish it. I've seen the 1/12 kit and it looked exactly the same just scaled up. In either case much nicer than the 956.

I have the 1/12 Protar McLaren and I agree, it seems to be a scaled-up version of the 1/24 kit. I can't remember for sure which was released first, I suppose the 1/24 could be a scaled-DOWN version of the 1/12! The lack of great detail does argue more for the first option.

The new 1/20th MP4/2C came in the door today.
Looks OK and sits well enuf with the run of 1/20th McLarens I have from the various producers.
Going on from this I guess I would really like to see someone chuck out a plastic version of the MP4/3. Apart from the Gunze Sangyo 1/24th offering, the Kyosho RC thing at 1/18th and the expensive ST27 version, it has not really been available for a while.
Would sit nicely in and complete the run of McLaren kits that have hit the shelves covering 1984 thru to 1993.
I had better start sourcing that flourescent red paint.......

I like Mr. Color semi-gloss fluorescent red. More vibrant and more reliable than Tamiya TS36 - I'll never use that again.

And using an airbrush isn't as hard as everyone makes it seem, you have way more control with an airbrush. It just takes longer to setup and clean.

I’ve recently received my 1/20 scale MP4/2C also. For this one though I’m not worried about flo red,, but getting the fight shade of yellow.
