Afternoon, Fellows Just scored a set of Fred Cady decals for the 1964 Pure Firebird Special I've been looking for years for. Raymond cut me a Good price. I've always Loved This Lotus and have many magazines on it over the years. The August 64 Sports Car graphic cover is great and the thing I like about THIS car was it tested with many engine and exhaust combinations and without engine fairings. The bronze colored DOHC engine in this car appeared on the cover of the March 64 Hot Rod with Bird Shooter exhausts. I will use the AMT Bill Cushenberry Dream Rod DOHC alternate engine NOT included in the repop into the Tiger Shark show car. The Dream Rod DOHC is totally different from the AMT or IMC Lotus
DOHCs or the MPC Gurney DOHC and has no transaxle as it was used as front engine. Picked up some exhaust headers that taper in a long cone that should look good as the car was tested with four into one separate sided or inter-crossed will be different than the "Bundle of Snakes" everyone is using. So you can make a Lotus with each one, even with Webers instead of injectors, That was tried also but I have no photos inside a Lotus only a Ford GT. Looks like fun (except for the white paint - which is the Best from a rattle-can?) Thanx, John
P.S. My bad, a photo of the very First fitting of the DOHC into a Lotus chassis with Jimmy and Colin shows vertical Webers centerline.
