Just for fun. If you had enough money to buy an Indy car and just one to own and drive. From which era would you purchase one from? I think I would favor rather the Laydown Roadsters or the Great looking Lotus of the 1960s. Lotus would get my overall choice. Something to occupy our time till next weekend Sunday.

Easy! I’d purchase a certain Lotus 38 from the museum in Reno that sits there as the Smothers Brothers Special. I’d then take to AAR and have them restore it to Dan Gurney’s first AAR entry at Indy. The 1966 Lotus 38 Yamaha Special that Dan qualified on the outside of the front row.

That's easy. I'd take A.J.'s Watson/Kuzma roadster. If I couldn't get that one, I'd want Ol' Calhoun. What a pair of race cars!!!

Rick Mears '91 winner. That car just has it. Iconic livery. Great lines. A super looking car. But I can say I wouldn't turn my nose up at any of the choices.

Now my presumption on my Lotus 38 pick was that this was a fantasy and therefore part of my fantasy was that I was 40 pounds lighter and could actually get in and out of the car. That’s within the rules, right? Paul Erlendson

How about Peter DePalo's 1925 Duesenberg? I can't answer this question without thinking of Gary and Chris. I miss them. I hope they get to watch on Sunday. Jim

Easy. The most beautiful race car ever. The 1970 Parnelli Colt Johnny Lighting Special of Al Unser.

I'd go with Louie Meyer's first winner. That gold #14 is just so beautiful. Duane

Mine would have to be between four cars... 1915 Mercedes, 1939 Maserati 8CTF, 1965 Lotus 38, and 1969 Brawner Hawk. After a very tough decision, and by the slightest of margins, the 1939 Maserati 8CTF would be my choice. It is a rolling work of art. And to throw in something else, my favorite Pace Car would be between four cars as well... 1941 Chrysler Newport, 1961 Ford T-Bird, 1972 Hurst Olds 442, and 2011 Camaro in the vintage white and orange. Once again, after much thought I would choose the 72 Hurst Olds 442. Ben

I'd go with Louie Meyer's first winner. That gold #14 is just so beautiful. Duane “Big small scale” is reissuing Gary Doucette kits. Currently offered is a 1927 “Jynx Special” which is aFront Drive Miller. Michael has the 1928 winner markings. 2+2=14?

That’s REAR drive. I must have put the CART before the HORSEpower.
