A funny thing happened when I went to use the "buy it now" feature for an item today:
Transaction Blocked Unfortunately, this seller has decided that you are not permitted to bid on their listings. You may contact the seller via the Ask Seller Questions feature if you want additional details.
So I asked the seller, "Why am I "not permitted" to buy this item?"
My same day response, "Because until Ebay owns my business, I still get to decide with whom I do business. Have a nice day."
To which I responded, "Your attitude seems to have changed since I last purchased this item from you. I will be sure to pass this information along to all my friends, family, and business contacts."
And here I thought businesses were put in place for the purpose of making money. Boy am I stupid.

So what's his Ebay ID? Sounds like someone I'd like to avoid.

it seems so many businesses these days have a don't give a s**t about you attitude. when my wife and i dine out we rarely drink and this seems to cause our server to ignore us figuring that the tip won't be worth the effort. i as well wish you would let us know who the ebay seller is so i can avoid them as well. duane

Then you'll love this:
Seller, "Oh, gee, I'm crushed. I'm sure your friend would have given me a LOT of business, lolol Next time you get feedback, cretin, give it back. You're the worst sort of buyer. I'm surprised you're not blocked by everyone"
My reply, "Seriously? That's what you're in a twist over? Wow. Now I can see why you wouldn't want my business. After all stupid Ebay feedback is much more important than actual money now isn't it? I guess you won, huh?"
Seller: "Yup, I'll really miss your 20 bucks a year in business. Go buy from someone else you're not going to leave feedback for, lazy creep"
Me: "Oh now you're going to go and hurt my feelings with the name calling. Not really the manner in which a professional business runs now is it? Something for you to think about if you ever decide to become an actual profitable, professional company.
Goodbye."
Seller: "This is a hobby and I'm the only person selling this product on the internet. You're making a gigantic assumption in thinking that I credit you with any feelings whatsoever, cretin."
My final reply: "It is you who are assuming that I feel anything toward you except disappointment and contempt. I have grown bored of your repetitious ramblings. Please do not contact me again."
I am going to just delete any future responses from this joker. There's no point in continuing. Besides, he's exhausted his use of names to call me. He already got to cretin twice. ;D

"media-mover" is the seller by the way.

I don't normally get into this sort of thing but I say we all send him an email and ask him to please block our bid names as well. See how he feels about adding a hundred or so names to his block list. ;D

I read thru about 2 doz. pagesof feedback, apparently, any "criticism" or questioning of ANYTHING about his stuff gets you flamed, big time! I value my feedback, but this is just nuts. As a fellow lazy cretin, I'm in good company here - LOL!

Good grief, what a crybaby. He must have a lot of blocked bidders because not everyone gives feedback.

I could care less if I get feedback from anyone I sell to. This person must be one of those ebay freaks.

This is going to be fun...... Here was my response to one of his items.....the Delaware Punch.....I was asking how it tasted... Seller: Thanks for looking. There are lots of people who have tried it, I'm not going to sell to someone who doesn't know what it tastes like. If you don't like it, it will be nothing but trouble.

That's ridiculous. Now I'm glad I didn't get to buy it even if it was going to be a birthday present for me mum. SWT500- Don't think it didn't cross my mind to do just that. G

The other thing to do would be to buy something from him and then leave him some scathing feedback. Sellers can no longer leave "revenge feedback" to buyers. Sounds like he deserves someone to poop in his Post Toasties!!! Modelers, UNITE!!!

Sounds like he deserves someone to poop in his Post Toasties!!! Modelers, UNITE!!! No but they can report buyers who do not act within eBay guidelines. Giving a negative if the seller can show the transaction was carried out to the terms of the purchase agreement is a very bad idea. As big of a jerk as he is being - and frankly I;m stunned that he has 100% feedback on over 11000 transactions - he is within his right to behave as he is. Just let the guy be and let Karma run it;s course.

Update: Prospective buyer: 'worst case scenario I spent 10 bucks don't like it and pour it down the sink. Sell: It's not 10 dollars, it's 22 shipped. Worst case is you pour it down the sink, file a PayPal claim and neg me. Thanks.

I'm familiar with the eBay policy. Seems like the seller doesn't mind, so neither do I.

Prospective buyer: I don't really count shipping...it's like grits in the south...you just get 'em with every meal whether you like 'em or not. Don't get your knickers in a knot regarding negative feedback...I've never left negative feedback...caveat emptor! Words I live by.
Waiting for response.

Worst case is you pour it down the sink, file a PayPal claim and neg me. Thanks. Then that's his fault for not saying something to the effect of "some people find this drink to be rancid - if you have not had it before we are not responsible and will not refund it if you do not like it." That said, the new ebay feedback rules totally suck. There is no motivation for a seller to give feedback to a buyer because buyer feedback is now 100% meaningless. I suppose a seller could give positive feedback and say "this buyer is a douchebag", but it;s not going to hurt the buyers rating - and there ARE bad buyers out there.

But yeah this guy's tactics leave me scratching my head. I've always said, some people are successful because of who they are, some are successful in spite of who they are. This guy definitely is in the latter category.

I agree that the rules bite the big green one. If a buyer leaves something that sounds negative but posted as a positive, eBay will remove it on request, as you alluded to later. If a buyer is unhappy and leaves negative, they won't touch that, despite their policy, which, like most of their policies, is largely lip service.
