The real color is a mid 60's mustang color called poppy red if my memory is still working. Craig

Tstors (Model Master line) makes *Competition Orange*. That is the color code used for Poppy Red by FoMoCo in later years. The color is really *orange*, and red is not a true description. I bought automotive paint from NAPA mixed to the '65 Mustang code for Poppy Red and it is closer to Testors small bottle orange than about anything else. On a model, the red *spectrum* barely shows in the paint. This color is what Banjo Matthews was instructed to use on his factory Fords in NASCAR beginning in mid '65. After Foyt drove for him in '67-early '68 (and later '71-'73), A.J seemed to pick up this color for his own cars, eventually calling it Coyote Orange.

You may be right RussD. In addition to being an Indy car nut, I am also a Mustang nut. Mainly I'm just nuts. However I am pretty much harmless, and I have a lot of fun. Craig
