I have always liked the super wide-treaded Firestones on the F-1 Ferraris from 1968-1970 (before slicks). There such an explosion in tire size from 1963 on all racing cars. When I bought the original Heller Ferrari P-4 I thought they were so cool but a bit on the tall side. I finally purchased some 1/24 Plastic Performance Products Asphalt Modified Style Stock Car Tires last month mainly for the "Firestone" gold stripes and letters but am pleased with the tread pattern. Is the size height/width accurate for a 1/24 68/69 F-1 car? I think these would also look good on a 1/24 68 Chaparral 2G "Pontoon Fender". Also, PPP makes a "Hoosier" version, is the tread pattern different? Any comments from out there? It'll be awhile before I build I'm up to my elbows in 1/ 24 King Cobra's and Loti!
