Ok, I got a kit (it had been slightly started, from Herk56, THANK YOU!) and I fully intend on building it. Not a problem.
My *problem* is: A.J. Foyt drove the car after Jimmy Bryan decided to cut back his schedule. I really need someone to at least point me towards some reference on the car as it was driven by Super Tex.
All help will be GREATLY appreciated! Mongo

The car was the same as Jimmy Bryan drove in 1958 But had # 29 on it when Foyt drove it in 1958 and # 10 in 1959. Cady did the decals for the Dean Van Lines Spl. with the # 29 on the sheet , you might find some on ebay. As far as Pictures not to many are out there ! it"s not Indy and 2nd he wasn't Super Tex yet. So it's a litte harder to find photos There are a couple of the car in Dick Wallen's 1950"s book.

I am looking for the car in '57, which I understand is the first ride A.J. had in a "Big Car". I am not *totally* sure that this was the case, but from Chris' instructions, that is mentioned, but, no specifics are told. On the videos, it has been very hard to tell who's in what car sometimes, unless they are leading, etc.. LOL!! But I love to watch them. ;D Mongo

I am looking to build it as the '57 car which I understand was the first ride A.J. had on the Champ car trail. Jimmy drove it and A.J. filled in for the first time at Springfield, IL. if my info is correct. I have been to Springfield as a car crew member for ARCA races so I have a connection to the track in a minor way. I am wondering if, when A.J. subbed n the car, was the number changed, was his name put on it as driver, etc.. Or was it just left with Jimmy's name and number? I guess that is more complicated.to ascertain than when he was the full time driver in '58. (??) I have entered the *Indy Car Model* aspect a *little* too late to know where references, etc., are for the '50s-''60s era which is what I am most interested in building. My background over over 50 years of building models lies in the NASCAR period, specifically the '50s-'60s. So, I have to rely on the great people here to help in my quest! ;D Thank you, Bill Little AKA: Mongo
