AMC Hornet Custom

Besides race cars, my other love is customs. For this one I started with a resin body of a stock '74 AMC Hornet. All I got was a body, grill and some crude tailights. All the body mods are done with Evergren sheet plastic and polyester putty. The interior can from a late model BMW sedan. I vac-u-formed the hood scoop and rear window louvers. Scratch made the head light lens when I could not find any MV Product lens in stock any where. also made the tail light lens. Both using "Bar Epoxy". Topped it all off with a bit of custom paint.

The paint is so eye catching and it obviously took a ton of work. But everything is really top notch on this one! The body mods are seamless and it all flow really well giving the car a mean look. The resto mod vibe is one I have always liked and this one does it really well. The details are really good on this one making it look a lot like a 1:1, very impressive.

Very, very, nice! I think most of us are open wheel guys first, but dayam I like the change of pace! Wouldn’t you love to see a 1:1?
