John Andretti passed away today after his long battle with cancer. Always thought he was the nicest racer I ever met. God Speed JA!

I just saw that, too. What a great guy and an asset to a legendary family. Godspeed John!
Remember to get checked for colon cancer and honor his #checkit4andretti campaign.

This sucks. Fans have all sorts of opinions on drivers... but I've never heard a bad opinion of John.
Dan Gurney Mario Andretti AJ Foyt Mark Donohue Juan Montoya John Andretti
Unless I'm mistaken, these are the only drivers that won in Indy cars, NASCAR and Sports cars... That's quite a list to be a part of.

I’m thinking I might have to get my Porsche 90P kit out. I do wish, only from the standpoint that I personally think it’s a good looking car, that there were decals for his 1988 Skoal Bandit Lola. Paul Erlendson

I few years ago I went to one of the great Gems of the Mid West - Indiana Sprint Week. At all of the tracks we went to we would see John and his son Jarett feverishly working to prepare Jarett's sprint car. Usually they were the only ones working on the car. John was very friendly when we would stop to say hi. I believe Jarett actually won the Sprint Week championship a couple of years later. (As I recall Jarett had some success with a McLaren in GT3 last year.)
God speed John. One of the good guys. Sometimes life just isn't fair.

Classy move by The Speedway giving John a last lap John I did not see that until today. Not sure how many hearses have been able to lap IMS but that was a great gesture by the Speedway. Jordan
