Thanks so much for sharing this. I loved Ted Horn as a kid and cried like a baby when he was lost; even more the following year when Rex Mays died at Del Mar. I am about finished with a model of "Beauty," his champ car using one of the Stromberg midgets as the starting point. "Baby" was restored by Robert McConnell and is part of his collection. It was Circle Track classic feature article in October 1987.

The car McConnell has is very interesting. Found in the woods and rebuilt with many original parts including the magneto which was tracked down in a junkyard in MI I think. Also gave Mario Andretti his first sprint car ride(URC). I don't believe the frame is original though.
