What do you guys recommend for two and three tone paint jobs? What brand are people using to mask bodies? I see different sizes and brands. I am looking for your opinions. As far as the 83 Lola Michael has just finished up the Budwiser decals and I am waiting shipment of the white metal this week. I will start putting together the first test car and let you know when I am accepting orders via the board or emails. the price will be 100.00 plus 7.00 S&H in the US. Thanks Kevin K.

I use Tamiya tape too. Sometimes it leaves a mottled appearance to the paint underneath it though, so either let it cure very thoroughly or be prepared to buff it out (which isn't all that difficult.)

This is what I use for fine line tape. You can pick it up at most Automotive paint supplies. Made in Germany but cheaper than 3m's. Starts out light orange but turns darker when applied so its easy to spot a lifted edge. www.chicagoairbrushsupply.com/fbsprfiorta11.htmlKevin

I don't know...using a motorcycle frame to mask a paint job seems kind of extreme to me... --Frank

I like Tamiya tape also, but I also use blue painters tape. Don't use it without cutting a new 'edge' with a straight edge ruler and a Xacto blade. The tapes uncut edge is a bit rough which might show. Also, before spraying the color coat spray a coat of clear along the edge. This will seal the edge and eliminate any 'bleed' under the tape.

Forgive me if this seems like hijacking this thread, but it's of a similar vein. I seem to recall reading somewhere you can make a painting mask from diluted white glue and food coloring. Has anyone heard of or tried this? Thanks.
