Tom Faletti and Ed Mautner will be bringing American Racing Miniatures/Etzel's Speed Classics to Indy this weekend. We have secured a table for the Memorabilia Show at the Speedway this coming Saturday. We have now boxed six of the nine models that we acquired from Chris Etzel. Our most recent entry is the Kurtis-Kraft Midget that we will introduce at the show. It will join the Duesenberg, Miller, Stutz Black Hawk, and both the 1998 and 1999 Dallaras. We will also have a good inventory of Halibrand wheel/tire sets for Speedway and dirt, the 270/255 Offy engine kit, stand alone Standing Driver figure, two packs of both the Board and Brick track bases, contingency sponsor decals, Packard Cable decals for FWD and Gulotta's RWD, and the 1/43rd decal set for the SMTS Miller 91. We are now also retailers for Vintage Racing Miniatures and will have a stock of their Offy and V-8/60 Midget decals. Please stop by and say hello.
For the prognosticators, I put my money on Carpenter, but will really look forward to watching Juan Pablo and Kurt Busch. In any case, this year's race looks to be very exciting and a bit scary as well - a lot of very fast rookies mixed with some very fast veterans in the mid pack. Should be very interesting. spyder.

Just wondering if American Racing Miniatures has a place where they sell from other than shows? cheers Send them a PM on the board. That's how I got a Dallara from them a month or two ago. Sent in a money order and got my stuff pretty quick via mail. Jordan

Thanks Jordan for the great idea, however, I remain wondering who I should PM? Forum nicknames don't give away who is who?

Steven, spyder is me, Ed Mautner, and Tom Faletti is tomfaletti, I believe, but you can snail mail us as well at American Racing Miniatures, P.O. Box 96, Round Hill, VA. 20142. Tom is already at Indy, and I am hauling the freight out there in about an hour. Enjoy the race and model on. Ed

Thanks for the clarification. When I read the lead message it sounded like Spyder was writing about American Racing Miniatures in the third person, which made it unclear that you were one of them. LOL! While I have been around the hobby for a while, I must admit, I am not familiar with all the old Edzel's products, so was looking for a place review your offerings.
Cheers

The old Ertzel products are among the best you will find. Lance's are in the same category. I have to admit that I have some Ertzel and Sellers kits on my shelf that I have been reluctant to build just because I did not think I would ever be able to get another one. That is somewhat twisted logic. So, I am thrilled that these are available. I am also glad that some of the current producers like Gary Doucette and Calvin are keeping their models available over time. That really helps someone like me. Hope to see you on Saturday. Jim

What a WONDERFUL show and I'm grateful for the opportunity to see old friends like Walt (very old in his case!) and Michael and meet other members like Tom and Lazier Fan also! If you are around Indy and do not attend this great event, you are really missing out!

Agreed, it was a great show and a great race. This was American Racing Miniatures first Memorabilia Show and was certainly a great opportunity for us to meet Forum members, others in this small industry, Indy model builders who are not - yet - on the Forum, and several well known personalities in the Indy vintage racing world and publishers and writers of Indy history. It was great to be in a line up with Walt, Michael (IndyCals), Eric (lazierfan), and chat with Bill and Lance. And, thanks to a wonderful Tazmanian named Roger Mahoney, ARM went International. I am not sure who made out better, ARM or the vendors we dropped the long green on. Prices for used books were too good for me to pass up. We cannot wait until next year. Ed and Tom.

It was great to meet you guys and see all the amazing stuff you are doing. I'm going to have to let my credit card cool down a bit after that weekend before getting a Dallara or Duesenberg, however!
Did you get my PM this morning?

Scott, Tom and I are working on a credit card intercooler. We think we can become very rich and famous with such a device. In fact, we are working on a resin prototype as I write. Who keeps saying you can't make a buck in the resin business? Ed

Ha! Classic, Ed. I would definitely be in for one of those! May and December are the two busiest months for the card, for some reason...
And thanks for the wheels, those arrived over the weekend!
