Oh in other news the other day some Bald Eagles were flying around my place and I got a few acceptable shots. As I feel better the more aggressive I can get in chasing down these opportunities! I know I say this all the time but they were a little too far away and there was a lot of backlight but it's fine or good enough to show and talk about.

What a beautiful, outstanding series of eagle photos! "Professional Grade" would be an apt description! I swear that I can hear the choir singing "America, The Beautiful"! --Frank

That's Mt McKinley. or Denali as the locals call it. There is some awesome scenery in Alaska. It's not a real good idea to get out and try for a closeup with a bear.

Calvin, how smokey is it at your place? We have about a half mile of visibility here in Vancouver. Our state is on fire! This is by far the worst I've ever seen it here.

Calvin, how smokey is it at your place? We have about a half mile of visibility here in Vancouver. Our state is on fire! This is by far the worst I've ever seen it here. Its been horrible! But amazingly the wind changed and today has been completely clear! Yesterday it look like this out my window..... when it usually looks like this. I've been telling friends off the forum about all the fire tragedy going on up here as one of my cousins lost their home and other family up north from me that are in danger, but not as much today THANKFULLY! So I've been a little busy tending to networking with my friends and family the past few days....its been pretty depressing

I think the wind did change, and it is blowing it towards us now. Stay safe.

Sometimes I have to hide from Mother Deere or she'll hoof me down! (That's actually her real name - she's been our pet deer for the last 6 years we have lived here - we guess she's about 8 years old and she is very smart - she looks both ways when crossing the road)

You might know that I love to photograph dragonflies. this one was dazed by car turbulence and didn't mind being picked up and held. After the photos I put it on a tree branch so it would be safe. A true close encounter! Oh, and the crawdad, well he visited me while I was H2O color painting at Sonoma Creek! I have a very interesting video of it!!! Patrick

For Duane, Tim, and anyone else suffering from the heat, this is Denali NP today. Those are Caribou in the background.
