I'm looking for help from guys who have this period and these cars as a specialist subject.
I am aiming to do a scratchbuild of an Indy winner, the Tydol Special from 1933. A good looking car with not too many complications. I'm looking for basic information to start with, dimensions to give me a starting point, good original pictures to scale from and maybe line drawings. Does this stuff exist? I think I have all the stuff which google can offer regarding pictures, only a suspect w/b dimension of 2420mm WB has come to light.
Are there any books of this period to be recommended? The Ludvigsen book is on its way
Thanks in advance, Peter

Welcome Peter!! First, please look at "Indy Resin" on ebay and you will find a model/kit of this car produced by Gary Doucette. Ordering information is there and the cost is $95.00. I and others on this site have found Gary great to deal with. Next, scroll down in this folder and you will find postings about this car, pictures, and an entire discussion about color, etc. Indycals ever did a new set of decals based on this discussion. Good luck. Thanks for joining us. Jim

Hi James.
I should have mentioned my interest in modelling in 1/32 scale and also emphasised my wish to scratchbuild rather than kit-build.
Thanks for your repy and your information given. Peter.

Peter, I'm going to send you a personal message through the forum with Gary Doucette's address. I feel confident that he'd be glad to help you out with your project.
John

John Gary might be able to help you out with some drawings that he used for his kit. Another idea would be to buy Gary's kit to use as a reference. When you are finished, you can sell it to one of us. Take Care Craig
