Clean. I wonder what inspired the use of the different wheel.

Lance, is it possible for you to give us a little overview of how you went about making these wheels?

Hhmmmmmmm.....do I sense a Parnelli and Foyt Lotus on the horizon? ?? Jim Must mean Lance is working more on his 1965 A.J. Foyt Lotus 34 which I want to back date to Jim Clark's 1964 Lotus 34. Paul Erlendson Attachments:

To start I made a scale drawing of the wheel center.

Next the center of the wheel is fashioned from plastic tubing. I next made a point for the star, this was then molded and the points were glued into place.

From this another mold was made.

|
|
Post by lance on Dec 8, 2011 21:05:52 GMT -5
Next I used a series of tubes that fit within each other to find the center of the wheel.

|

A hole is then drilled at the center of the wheel to accept the tubing used for the center of the wheel, after which, the remaining details were added.

Then another mold was made of the finished wheel center.

Finaly , the casting of the wheel center is trimmed to fit the outer part of the wheel (taken from another kit) and glued into place. A mold of the finished wheel is than made.

Lance,
Do you have an idea of a release date yet for your Foyt Lotus 34?
Thanks,

Thanks for showing us the steps involved Lance. It's neat to see how your mind works vs. how mine deconstructed the wheel.

Wow. I think we can all agree that Lance is a true artist.
Thanks for sharing this. What is really amazing to think about is the number of times this type of artistry is required to create a whole car.

You never cease to amaze me. Take Care Craig Great stuff Lance, just goes to show how difficult problems are solved by breaking down the process into manageable steps. Well at least manageable for those with tons of talent!! Jordan
