You’re a decal makin’ machine! Brilliantly done!

You are killing it with the sports cars. The Heller 905 is a beast but it can be built. This is a 24 hour rough curbside build I did ten years ago... Hosted on Fotki

I had a scan f the original decals and they were some of the worst I've ever seen - it's like there was no attempt whatsoever to get the colors registered.

I built the 1/43 kit many years ago. Decals were as Michael described and even worse to apply! Stiff as shirt cardboard! I actually glued some of them on with Future, also did a lot of touch-up. I might consider re-doing it with these sometime, very nice looking sheet.

You pretty much have to accept its not going to fit right and also accept that it will become a curbside build.

Besides the decals, what's wrong with the kit?

Thanks Calvin. That is it! I glued it all together, puttied as required, re-scribed panel lines and shot paint. The kit is engineered as a full detail kit. Essentially if everything fit you could lift off both front and rear bodywork to reveal nearly complete chassis and engine detail. However, the detail is very soft and the fit of parts is horrible. I recall the front lower bodywork being at least 1/8" wider than the upper bodywork it glues to.

So if a person just accepts it's going to become a curbside and some sanding an filling, it's really not bad....especially with Michaels decals, it would look good on the self.

It's a beautiful car. Any semi-accomplished modeler can build a nice curbside with the Indycals decals.
