I working on a conversion to turn this: Into this: I am using a conversion made by Czech Master Resin. It provides a new fuselage to replace the one in the Airfix Lancaster. First up is to modify the kit wings to mate with the new fuselage. Of course, we can't forget the photoetch! Eduard p/e wheel bays installed:

This is going to be a long term build and as such, I'm going all out! Next up: p/e flaps! I'm using a set made by Flightpath for the Lancaster. After removal of the kit flaps, this is what the p/e bays look like: OH NO! Since I modified the wings to fit the York, the Lancaster flaps are too long: I modified the inner flap bay by removing 1 section: This is the port outer bay ready to install: More to come...

Man! that takes me back. I was about 5 years old, and my father was a customs officer at Hern Airport (Bournemouth U.K.) he used to take me their to watch those monsters land and take off, I still remember them, those and de havilland dragon rapide's.
I remember him telling me that they were really Lancasters. (he's still alive and well at 93, an ex RAF fighter pilot).

I have 1 flap section finished. This is the Port outer flap and these 2 parts consist of a total of 20 pieces with 9 more when the flap is installed on the wing. The upper part is the flap bay and the lower is the flap itself. Only 3 more to go!
