Nice going, Craig. Glad that you stayed with it in spite of all of us advising what the proper color was and your trying to get everything to fit. I, too, have a kit sitting on my work bench defying me to finish it. This is a unique car and an fine addition to your collection. Jim

Well Craig, you hit the finish line...and it turned out great! One of the iconic "shoulda, woulda" cars that make the history of the Indy 500 so awesome..."funny car, furrin car, Cooper, who?"...Black Jack Brabham sure threw the Indy boys a curve... Also Craig,"the next one;a super secret project" should be easier to build...wink, wink, nudge nudge! Tim

Your build looks great. Although these FPPM kits are full of flash they clean up very well. I have a few that had way to many air bubbles in the chassis. I wonder if he does not put all the molds under pressure?? Anyway you will not find better body shapes in a kit(even better than most of the computer designed kits). He does do good research and it shows, but a lot of cleanup is required(and I mean a lot). Would you rather he cleans them up and charges more? I think in this world of bargain hunters sales would stop if he did. Remember these are very very limited kits and most have motors and hand made wire wheels. The Mercedes 1914 GP car has very nice photoetch, a first for him.

It looks wonderful! Nit picker time...the seats were grey and the seatbelts were grey, too. Jack came to appreciate the use of seatbelts, but I don't think he transferred that like to his GP cars! Now don't get me wrong...I think you did a masterful job and I don't give a rat's butt about the colors! I know the car showed up at Indy in its green color and really believe it was blue at race day. Controversy is so fun! Patrick

The seat on the restored car is 2 tone blue, Patrick. That's what I tried to copy (not very well). I know that the belts are gray, but I thought the hardware would not show up if I went that way. You don't need to worry about upsetting me, I have much thicker skin than that. Glad to hear that everything seems to be going just super for you. I know that others have received kits that were much better than the one I got, and some have had the same problems. I can only talk about my experience. I am certainly not a master builder, but I have built many resin kits, and this is, by far, the worst one I ever did. Take Care Craig

Despite your struggles it turned out very well Craig. You should be proud of how well it turned out.
I have this kit and I hope mine turns out remotely as well as yours.
