I will be coming to Indy late Thursday. My wife and I will be heading to the speedway Friday morning and meeting up with Walt (oldphotos) for the vintage Indy cars. The vintage event is my favorite happenings leading up to the memorabilia show. I hope to see a lot of you guys there on Saturday. Please stop by and say hello. The only thing he did was mock my "I believe the Honda's will come alive for the race" comment...he called me this week to say "Hey! The Honds came alive...a year late!"...he also kept telling my friend Burd that JPM would never win...at least he didn't have to listen to Burd for the thousands of miles home...I went to Phoenix this year instead of Indy...Indy has the highest room rates in the USA on 500 weekend...the room in Phoenix for 3 nights cost less than Indy for 1 night...my only regret is the Memorabilia show and seeing/ meeting guys on here...ya'll have fun and enjoy the race!

I hate to used the "R" word so I won't but what happens if it does? They try to run it Monday. Here's the last two postponements that I could remember. Anyone remember some more of these in the last 30 years? In 1997, it rained Sunday they ran Monday for 15ish laps which was finished up on Tuesday. In 1986, it rained Sunday so race was postponed to Monday, it rained Monday with a bad forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, so they postponed to Saturday. Race ran Saturday 5/31. Jordan |

I have a hotel room now. Looks like I will be heading up there Friday. It is $30 for Friday GA tickets, so I will have to see if there is enough day to justify the cost - especially since Saturday GA is $50. Need to spend money wisely, for this trip all food, gas, non-Sunday tickets, merchandise, models, memorabilia, etc all come out of the same finite budget.

Where are you staying, Jordan? I got a room in Kokomo for a decent price.
The Sat. ticket for $50 includes the concert from what I saw. Regular access, and the show is $10. If I have this wrong, somebody please correct me.

That is my understanding also, $50 on Saturday is only if you go to the concert, too. Admission to Legends Day is just $10.
Somehow, I let myself get talked in to the concert. Ah well, it was more fun than I expected last year!

Thanks guys, I found both prices on their website and called to find out what was going on. Saturday tickets are $50 with concert admission included so I bought the $10 ticket - whew, that's much more in line with the ol' budget. I have to be heading to the airport Saturday afternoon, so glad I was able to save money on the portion of the day I cannot be there anyway.
I think the hotel is technically still in Indy but it is almost to Carmel, so a good 15-20 miles to the track depending on the route.
Looks like we have four reserved tickets and only two going at this point. If anyone needs tickets still and is interested in two reserved seats at face value - shoot me a PM. Outside of track just short of the line of bricks.

Our main issue last year was not my fault, or Tim's. We sat in the North vista, and took the shuttle in from the airport. The shuttle lets you off, and picks you up, across the street from the museum tunnel. It's a heck of a walk to the North end, and a real bi*ch back after the race. Ok for you young guys, but we are not.
Burd called it "the Indy death march". When Sandy told me he had an extra ticket this year, I said where? He said South vista, and I said "I'll take it".

Got in town today. Parade tomorrow. I guess that is what I pay for room and board at Mom and Dad's. We are in Plainfield. Doing Putnamville races Sat night. Airport VIP shuttle and Sec E Turn 1 for the race. Been coming since 84!
