Great stuff Paul but my saying to you is "Stay, Paul, Stay"!!! Meaning stay focused to finish her! Don't look anything that will get you mind of this subject/project! Not even your wife! LOL No worries Stu. While I’m in my model room, my wife Suzanne is next door in her sewing room. And while I’m working with a kit, she is scratch building! Here are all her “yoyo’s” that she’s done for the monkey she’s making for a grandkid and a photo of what it will look like. Meanwhile I’ve just gotten a package from Calvin with my hydraulic reservoirs for the clutch and brakes. I’d been trying to figure out how to replicate them as the Fujimi kit has none. When my McLaren Mp4/2 kit arrived (hmmm, wasn’t that what started all of this?) I found that what Aoshima created was perfect for my Ferrari. Calvin was good enough to cast copies for me, so don’t be giving him too hard a time over not producing certain other things on our wish list. So I can now start working on the foot box. I finally found that Sprue Brothers had the Evergreen strip that I needed and that’s been shipped. I’m coming close to making some real progress on this project. Paul Erlendson

I agree the monkey does look like me! I hope its not a voodoo doll! So if I start all of a sudden start working on the Lotus 34 - it's because Paul is making me and not myself doing it!

Finally, a little progress. Our local Hobbytown has closed its doors and I’ll have to mail order almost all my supplies. Hopefully we can talk a local RC shop to at least get a Tamiya paint rack. Anyway, I got the Evergreen strip that I needed and this is what I’ve done with it. I had been scratching my head over this area of the fuel tank trying to figure out what looked wrong with it. After comparing the MFH kit photos to my Fujimi chassis this is what I came up with. My wife is a lot further along on her project. Here is a partial mockup of little “Calvin”. Paul Erlendson

Our local Hobbytown has closed its doors and I’ll have to mail order almost all my supplies. I'm sorry to hear that! I would hate to buy supplies over the web. I sure hope my Hobbytown doesn't go away! Besides I have a crush on a hot geeky girl that works in there! She would be the type to build a Marmon Wasp with me! My wife is a lot further along on her project. Here is a partial mockup of little “Calvin”. OMGosh! You win! I can't come up with any good comebacks! LOL! If your Wife keeps on making this cute little "Calvin" doll I might have to surrender and start building the Lotus 34.

Welcome to my world, Paul. The nearest, decent Hobby Shop is one and a half hours drive, for me, and then the selection is quite iffy. I get almost everything by mail. The internet is the best thing that has ever happened for most model builders. So Calvin, have you made a move on that girl, yet. You never know, until you try.

Now you have done it, Duane. You know he was looking for any excuse. Ok, Calvin, a photo of you and this girl someplace other than the Hobby Shop, and you are off the hook.

I vote for a win win situation, or in this particular case, a win, win, win situation. I get my model done, we all get a Lotus 34 and Calvin gets a life more free of the constrains that fate or whatever has given him. And Calvin, next time you’re in Hobbytown……. well, you’ll never know if you don’t try. Now back to work on a Ferrari. Paul Erlendson

I wished Michael P. would wake up some day and get the wild idea to start 3D drawing that Lotus 34....that would be the ultimate win for everyone! Then I wouldn't have to worry about getting accuracy abuse.

While drinking my Starbucks hot mocha today I was thinking about my Ferrari 126C2, so I thought I’d update my work in progress by letting everyone know that there is nothing to update. We’re in the middle of a remodel and our entire upstairs is now in the garage. New carpeting throughout the house and painting upstairs. Front entrance has been redone and also some electronic work has been done in our family room. I’m really happy that we can now stream on our main TV. I hope to be up and running in my model room sometime next month. This also means that my wife’s sewing room is also disassembled, but she’s a little farther along on one of her projects than I am with the Ferrari. Here’s the latest on where she’s at with “little Calvin”. Paul Erlendson

Sadly I see that it’s been almost a year since you’ve seen a post on my Ferrari. I don’t have any progress to report on it, but it is sitting next to my model desk and I have pulled it out of its container a couple of times. I have been working on my Eagle drilling holes, but that is kind of dull so I have pulled out a plastic kit that I’m really having fun with. Should I make some real progress on that I’ll report further. That all said, my wife has made progress and finished “Little Calvin”. I need to follow her example. As with many of our models she is not completely happy with the results. Arms too long and head too big, but she has finished it and will now move on to something else. The occasion that she was making it for has long passed so she just has to look for a new home for it. Paul Erlendson

I am so glad my personal friends or family doesn't look at this forum! I hope "little Calvin" finds a good home. I sure hope this isn't some kind of voodoo doll as for some reason I twitched very strangely this evening and picked up that crazy Lotus 34 for some strange reason? I was like "why did I do that? I didn't do that?" BTW I'll be praying for your Ferrari, because its very sad there is more pictures of "little Calvin" on this thread than Ferrari! LOL
