 Smiley  This picture, showing some of the modelers whose work has been awarded in the " Jabbeke on the road" show/contest held this past weekend at Belgium, sums up quite well what we have experienced: scale modeling, friends and fun. There was SpotModel enjoying the event and broadcasting in almost real time everything that happened there: hundreds of scale models of cars, trucks and motorcycles; encounters between new and old friends; lots of laughs and good times around our favorite hobby.  Leganes 2018This weekend we went to the biggest scale modeling contest in Spain, held at Leganes (Madrid), where in addition we also had the honor of being part of the "judges". Being a judge (well, acting as such for a while) is a quite complex and complicated task, but it does have one huge advantage: to be able to see all the models really really close, calmly, with time to spare, and with an analytical eye. Thanks to that, we were able to hallucinate with the absolute perfection of the Honda RC166 that achieved the Special Gold Medal on the civilians models category, and that was on the verge of becoming the Best Work of the Contest.  StrippingWe are good... we are even awesome... we are the best scale modelers in the world (ow, yeah), no doubt about it, right? Buuuuuuuuut it is also true that, from time to time, maybe more often than we like, some unfortunate problem happens that forces us to get aaaaaall the paint removed from our fantastic model. There are several ways to solve this "small unforeseen problem": brake fluid bath, plastic bag with oven cleaning fluid, and now also Tamiya's new product called " Paint remover". It is a stripper for lacquers, acrylics and enamel paints, perfect for removing the paint from your models. And if that's not enough, it is also water soluble, has little odor, and can be reused several times :-D Remove paint with Tamiya, solve problems with SpotModel.  ZakspeedThere are names in the racing world that carry lots of respect, and Zakspeed is one of them. This German racing team has raced the DTM and DRM, the Formula 1, the GT World Championship, and they have accumulated more than 400 victories. Easy to say!!! The Zakspeed Yamaha ZK 891 was the last car they developed for Formula 1, fitted with a Yamaha engine that gave many headaches to Zakspeed staff. Hasegawa released the model in 1/24 scale and if you have it, and now (a few years later) you decide to build it, it is quite possible that you get many headaches since the decals can be in poor condition. Is that so? And why don't you go for the new Shunko reedition of these decals, with tobacco sponsor included? Forget about headaches (and aspirins) with SpotModel...  306 MaxiThere are racing machines that thrill us to the point of making us shiver. Who hasn't dreamt about driving the Peugeot 306 Maxi Kitcar? That sound, that way of taking the bends, that way of flying on land and asphalt... mind blowing!!!
