This will be a Bourdais McAfee car or Newgarden's Texas Strike car. Not sure yet.

There is now doubt in my mind you had that professionally chromed! Heck yeah i did! I don't have an airbrush to use alclad and hate every chrome spray paint I've tried. So I had it chromed! I have Gary working on the Strike car and am leaning toward that.

Alclad comes in a spray can now too! It's great because I don't have to clean my airbrush.

I HATE YOU! (I envy you).
That looks amazing, I'm sure it was totally worth having that chromed. Decals for the Bourdais car are 100% ready to go if you want to get started! Gary has them.
What did it cost to have that chromed? Do you plan to paint over top, or just use decal? I'm curious because I may have to rebuild my Bourdais car. Compatible clear coat for all Model Masters enamel and it ruined the (expletive deleted)er. Bled the Model Masters Chrome Silver paint (jar, thinned exactly as they said) all over. It looks "OK" in my display case, but after working so hard it was just a gut shot when it happened. I know I'm going to get the desire to build it right next summer.

It IS NOT cheap! The Briscoe car paid for the chrome plating. My plan is to paint over it. All the issues you had are why I went with plating. Costs a bit more but the end result will be worth it!
I was originally going to do Bourdais Toronto car but the plating is to rough of a job for the wings so I will have to do the speedway car. I have a set of decals for the McAfee car just will need the bumper and front wing adjusted. But I'll wait on that. Gonna go with the Strike car.

Alclad comes in a spray can now too! It's great because I don't have to clean my airbrush. I'm way picky and I did not like the results I got from this product either. Maybe (probably) I'm just doing it wrong idk.

Looks good, wondering if the paint will "bite" on that chrome.

Looks good, wondering if the paint will "bite" on that chrome. I've done test runs with this on a bunch of spare chrome parts I have and it works great. Comes in blue too which will be perfect for the Strike car.
