I'm looking into having 1:64 scale road course wings made in 3D. Does anyone has detailed plans of these wings that I can supply TDR Innovations. I'm not sure of cost yet. Hopefully not too much. TerryB

At 1/64 scale you are REALLY going to be pushing (and possibly exceeding) the limits of Shapeways printing (assuming that is who is going to print it - it appears that is who TDR uses) and the rough texture of 3d printing is going to be even worse at that scale. Even 1/25 scale pushes the limit all-too often for my liking. It's definitely worth a try, but don't expect too much.

thanks Michael. It will probably cost more than I want to pay also but I thought I would check into it.

It might be a better idea to print something more substantial, like tools from which to make multiple r/c wings. Here were my two thoughts: - a series of contoured blocks that could be used to vacuform the wing pieces over to get the shapes of the individual wings right - contoured blocks for the top and bottom of the wing shapes that you could press together with thin metal between to form it into wing shapes
Just a thought, Jordan

Also, while I was soaking in the sun here in Hawaii, I thought that maybe I was using the wrong material for my wings. I have used styrene sheets of various width and have not been happy with the results. I thought about using then metal strips instead. I'm going to try that when I get home and see if I get better results. Thanks, TerryB
