Well, I pulled a BIG (expletive deleted) HOMER on this one. I painted it today and put the decals on and was totally thrilled to be actually building a model for the first time in a long time, then I realized I forgot to mold in a place for the feul filler cap! The good news is the decals lay much better than I thought they would over the compound curves of the tail and nose. Looks like this one will be going into the stripper and I will be ordering a new set of decals from Indycals.

If you didn't clear coat over the decals I wouldn't strip everything....I'd just go ahead and take some scotch tape and rip off the number decal and then mill out the fuel cap section with the Dremel and touch it up around the edges with the same black paint and wet sand it if needed and get a replacement decal for the tail since you placed the first one in the way of were the fuel cap goes. Clear coat it and most likely it will not be noticeable at all.....I've done this many times before on other things.
BTW it still looKs Kool as it sits now.

Sure looks good! Shame about the fuel filler. Might be worth a try to save the paintwork and decaling, worst case, it'd have to be stripped.

I am going to be re-molding this in the next week or two. If you want the new body with the opening for the feul filler, just send me your original body and I will send you a new one. I will also be sending out an email through my website letting everyone know. Lance

I noticed this problem last night when I was making a comparison between the Etzel and Sellars versions of the Watson. I thought it might be yet another difference between the cars, similar to the hood scoops. I think I'll hold onto this one, though. It might become as valuable as that upside down air mail stamp someday.
