I remembere the Brabham that had the lobster claws on them. Not sure of the year. Eighty something  but they were just plain ugly!! |

Rusty, I'd have to agree with you. I didn't think F1 cars could get any uglier, but they've proved me wrong.

Hey, at least the Ferrari doesn't have the strap-on marital aid that some - like the Williams - have.

Hey, at least the Ferrari doesn't have the strap-on marital aid that some - like the Williams - have. The Ferrari looks like someone left it out in the sun too long and the nose melted. The LOTUS (WAL-TUS) design reminds me of the Williams from a few years ago. If you look close at pictures of this car you'll notice that one of the "tusks" is longer then the other. They had to do that in order to make it the actual front of the car (according to the rules). The story I read about this front end was that they had a heck of a time passing the front end crash test. What if the teams are putting a "dong" at the nose just to spite the regulations? They look too rediculous to actually be an engineering marvel.

Yes horrible looking cars. I think that two of the most beautiful cars were in 1978. The Lotus 79 and the Tyrrell 008

At least the nose drop is not as extreme as the Ferrari. It appears that the designers are trying to keep the front wing supports as far apart as possible while making the nose as skinny as possible. We'll, the DW12 suddenly looks sooo much more beautiful. The F1 cars are all ugly, but sorry Patrick, the Ferrari is the Belle of the Ugly Ball.
