Could never figure out why Action Performance never made this available in RC configuration, even though period advertising featured drivers holding their respective models and Jimmy had a RC model in his hands. Used #4 car for donor and had Gary make me the car numbers and the "Planters" logo for the front wing. Changed the roll over hoop from the #12 SW car. Painted the under tray and the rear wing supports. More pictures linklinklinklinklinklinklink

I don't think Action really ever had their heart in ChampCar diecasts. They did a nice product but look at the 1999 Vasser Superman diecast where they did a RC config on a car that only ran in Michigan. Was two more years before they released a Handford Device. It was nice they did it but still....
It is a good looking car. Did you use Tamiya Italian Red on it?

I believe the Superman car was supposed to run at more races, like the Harley Davidson car and that is the reason it was released in the RC configuration. This one I did not repaint, everything is stock except for the car numbers and the Planters decal and the roll over hoop that I took from Vasser's SW car.
