Seems like a long shot to see him in IndyCars but it would be interesting to see him in a test... maybe a Penske test.... shades of 21 years ago....
I know the kid is not his uncle but having him in a competitive IndyCar might be fun to see how he does for a few years.

My dad and I went to Firebird that day to try and meet Senna but had no luck so we went on Maricopa Road, parked on the side of the road and watched The Master tear that track up! Its a slow setup but you couldn't tell because he was making it look fast as heck! It was 4 days after my 9th birthday and I was in heaven. I wish he would have signed with Penske to drive Indycar in '93. Maybe he still would have been here...anyway back to your point. It would be cool to have Bruno in Indycar.

I was uber depressed Mears was not coming back as I'd already pegged him to win the next two Indy 500s. Ayrton would have been quite the consolation prize though.... Oh well he was super impressive in 1993 at McLaren given the equipment gap from the MP4/8 Ford to Prost's Williams Renault. Jordan

Montoya is looking at IndyCar with Andretti. Supposedly, Joe Gibbs Racing is trying to get Tony Kanaan to go NASCAR full-time. TK is put off by IndyCar teams wanting him to bring money with him - looking at least KV, Ganassi, and Andretti teams. Losing TK would be a big loss for the series (my 2 cents).

Can't blame Tony for being upset about the sponsorship deal. He has more than earned his place in a good Indy Car team. Losing him to NASCRAP would be a disaster for the series. The series needs to re-watch the post 500 crowd who stood around to see the champion before letting him go.

The series needs to re-watch the post 500 crowd who stood around to see the champion before letting him go. Totally agree - I was one of them and it was really something to see. Tony needs to get video of that to show the sponsors, as well as the powers that be. Shoot, I'd even become a Ganassi fan if he signed with them. I can't imagine this is something he would want to do, especially at his age. It would be very hard to completely change up his skills at this age. We all saw what Franchitti and Montoya did, and they are as talented a pair of race drivers as you'll find. Not a slam on Nascar, but here is my theory on why guys like these, winners in open wheel, but also rans in Nascar: Drivers like Dario and JPM have amazingly high personal limits, whereas the stock car has very low limits (as compared to, well, real race cars). Most of the guys in Nascar (not the top guys, but most) have skills that were honed driving these low limit cars. Their personal limits aren't as high as the Jimmy Johnsons, Smokes, and Buschs etc. as well as the open wheel guys. So, they are able to reach the car's limit, without coming close to their personal limits. The mid-pack guys have personal skill limits about the same as the cars limit. The back of the pack, the cars have the higher limits. The winners are those on teams that are able to consistantly raise the limits of the car. Ganassi (with Felix Sabates :-)) is not one of those teams. Guys like JPM & Dario can reach the cars limit, but the team can't make that limit higher. Anyway, that's my take. Maybe Tony would do well, as Gibbs is a far sight better than Ganassi, but at his age (?) it might be too much of a transition. That said, I would love to be Tony's age again. :-)

RP probably had the inside knowledge of Juan's demise due to being around the NASCAR rumor mill. This may have been in the works longer than we realize.

I didn't see it coming for sure. When I saw JPM turn down a drive at Andretti, I thought he was staying in NASCAR for the $$...
I was surprised Chip wasn't mentioned as offering Juan an IndyCar seat!? Perhaps the strain of the NASCAR tenure strained their relationship? I really can't say.
Nice to see Roger shaking it up the last few years in hopes of getting back on top. I hope JPM helps raise the level at the team. We need another 500 win and title stat!!

I hear Indycar will be retrofitting their jet dryers with these...... Welcome back JPM!

Read a quote attributed to JPM saying he had been texting Chip (who's in Europe) about the deal and they were all friends still - etc. But still the fact that JPM isn't in a TCGR car for 2014 and is in the arch-enemy camp is very significant and a main reason I would have never have dreamed of this outcome.

I'm not too surprised to see JPM being asked to leave Ganassi but I am real surprised to have Roger Penske sign him for an Indy car. Indy cars are fragile and JPM has a habit of bumping into things. Roger, you know you are only worth 1.7B, can you afford this?
Going to be an interesting 2014, perhaps.

How about Hinch to KV? IMO the series needs a personality and talent like Hinch.

Hinch needs Andretti and Andretti needs a quality driver like Hinch - my opinion. There are a lot of good drivers out there who need a good seat but if you've found a good driver and established good chemistry then why start over with another driver?

WOW Ganassi to Chevy... I would have never guessed it. I bet Honda's going after some Chevy teams to tip the balance back but who? Andretti and Carpenter?? Panther's been a big Chevy team always and Penske's got Ilmor ties... KV and Dragon could go but those aren't big dominoes (to me) Jordan

Rumor around town here in Indy is Hinch to Rahal/Letterman/Lanigan. Otherwise, it's KV.
