Thanks for the color tip----don't understand how Tamiya can release a model with a color and then don't offer the color. Were you satisfied with the color upon completion? Sorry to hear about the fit issues.

Thanks for the color tip----don't understand how Tamiya can release a model with a color and then don't offer the color. Were you satisfied with the color upon completion? Sorry to hear about the fit issues. Thanks for the color tip And forgive me! but somehow i can understand Tamiya does not offer the color...yet! there are many other companies that offer color matching paint (zero paint comes to mind) (Think Tamiya is losing money on their TS-series! Wich arent that great anyway! IMO)..and dont forget that Tamiya does not care about Plastic Static Models! They are a company that is RC orientated and their plastic line is something they do on the side...And its not the first time! there is an issue with paint The color of the Mclaren MP4-13 i believe it was MS-5....well i cant find that paint number any more! Ehm wasnt there an issue with the Braun Tyrrell honda!?? If you use their Mclaren/M@#$boro orange/red...whatever! than i hope you keep it in a dark place far away from sunlight!! or the color will fade before you know it...sigh Why they haven't used any UV filters in that paint...well i don't understand??...its not like they did not know! Sorry to say because i Love Tamiya! Especially their early 1/20=1/12 Formula 1 series, And their quality is still Top notch! But they piss on Static Modelling and thats a shame! because they were the market leader for many years And Tamiya is loosing out! they are becoming a bit of a joke! look at their Militairy 1/35 series....Sorry but its well known that Dragon models is running circles around Tamiya offering more and much finer detail often giving you a choice of multiple variations of that same model in one box and often they come with an aluminium turned barrel for tanks etc against tamiya two piece plastic barrel photo etch is fine and crisp...unlike tamiya's photo etch! That match their Braille transfers/decals and general thickness of their models and is much to thick!! Now look at Hasegawa's lotus 79 against tamiya's lotus 79 Both very fine models but again sorry to say but hasegawa's kit is in my opinion running Circles around Tamiya! the amount of detail you get is much better sure there are issue's with both kits but Tamiya could have offered it in the 80's now it looks outdated like a re-issue...again not offering us much more...not really utilising today's techniques to their advantage Tamiya needs to up their game!! (sorry for ranting!)

Tamiya does offer the color - I obtained some for a customer several months ago. Took awhile to get here, but it's here.

All I can say is if Tamiya would ever stop making spray paint I would prolly just retire from model building.

Love Tamiya spray paints. Hate how hard they are to get locally.

Well i respect your opinions...and i understand your fondness of that (Oooh shiny!! ) finish it gives you!! but i just don't like Tamiya paint Its very expensive! here its 3 times more expensive than other paints if you decant the paint, for use in an airbrush! you cant thin it with normal paint thinners because that glossy finish wont be there! you need tamiya thinner! Colors are off or just plainly wrong....neither are they opaque enough you either need a base coat that's a bit lighter or you need multiple layers to make the color vibrant enough (thus increasing the chance of paint mishaps!) which is a problem because its all lacquer based and it dry's not quick enough for easy control unlike automotive paint systems (were you paint the color in base form and after that you clear coat) and clear coat is much lighter than color paint like that of Tamiya! (they got laquer and pigments mixed together) so multiple layers are much easier to control like i said before the are no UV filters what so ever in tamiya paint so some colors will fade and will get a bleached look in time if you are like me, in the process of stripping old F1 models...just because of that irritating fact...you'll tend to feel a bit different about Tamiya spraypaint..and what a nightmare to strip that paint and you dont want the surface detail removed by sanding or affect the plastic with agressive thinners or white spirit! (it will get your plastic brittle) But after trying some stuff i found me some 2-butoxyethanol which works wonders!! let it sit for 5 minutes...take an old cloth wet it with 2-butoxyethanol and wipe off the soft gooey paint and then use an old toothbrush to get into all the nooks and cranny's and then, wash off with water....and you got a clean stripped model again
