He sent out an e-mail to all that purchased one and said he'd ship in 4 to 6 weeks.

Beautiful and the *right* scheme, too! LOL Lance, didn't Rick and Bobby have different colored windscreens for the 500 in 1981?

Bobby had a yellow tinted windscreen. Mears had clear during qualifying and blue tinted during the race.

Are these going to be fun or what? Poor ole Mario must be looking on with envy. Please hurry Mr. Postman. Can't wait. Jim

You guys are the best. Thanks so much for all you do not only with the models but with preserving the history of the 500 and cars that have run at Indy. Can't wait for the mailing. Jim

A while back I had imposed a pre-1980 only requirement for any new Indy kit purchases, but I'm glad I made an exception for this one! Looks great, thanks Lance and Michael!

Lance or Michael, any color recommendations for these two? Really exciting seeing the '81 winner becoming a reality.
I see the Mears car is the #68 backup ;D

The Essex car was run in '80 so wouldn't that have been a PC-9, not a PC-9C? No offense intended, I'm always foggy on this part of Penske Cars history so I could be wrong myself.
I always wished someone would do a PC-9 - not only great for fans of Rick, Mario, and Bobby but that chromed sidepod is such a rarity and I think it looks great. Would be an attention getter on display in a cabinet or a judging table.
