Given the time we have, I just might be able to finish this kit. Tamiya 1/12th with Indycals for Clay Regazzoni. If any of you experts have any tips, I would appreciate it. I've actually started this one once already. This is the point which I had gotten to. But the box of parts was in an exposed place, and our newest cat (Taz) tried seeing what was in the box. The resulting shunt was a write-off for the chassis. Fortunately, I was able to get another kit for a very cheap price, but have not gotten back to starting (again)

Fun kit. I never truly appreciated that car until I built that kit. I always thought it was fugly, now it's one of my favorites.

Since the first chassis was written off, I'll be starting from square one. When I first started this kit, I sprayed the chassis in Testor's Aluminum metalizer. But after doing research and seeing what other builders have used, I found out the chassis needs to be shiny(er). Others have used BMF or Alclad, but I tried Tamiya TS-30 Silver Leaf. I like the way it looks.

I like it too, it is kind of a smooth-shiny- satin.
And for the record, I liked the car, even though the look is different. That was an era in F1 when aero and ground effects was growing by leaps and bounds. You could tell the car manufacturer simply by the vehicles profile.
I have this kit sitting in a box, so I will really enjoy watching your build.

You guys have probably figured I'd forgotten about this. Well, I've just been too occupied with other builds to get back to it. But since the weather has been perfect to paint in, I got the red body pieces sprayed today.

Those injectors can be a real pain! No matter what kit it is.

I need help, can you tell me when you routed the steering column was it easy, mine lines up exactly behind the brake pedal and short of losing the brake pedal I'm out of ideas and it's stopping me progressing, Thanks in advance for any advice, all I can think of are the holes in the bulk head are wrong.

I haven't routed the column on the new chassis, but the old one had gotten past that point and I didn't have any interference problems. I dry fit the steering and the brake pedal on the new chassis and I don't see a problem. If you can, take a pic of your chassis so we can see what's going on.

They're easy. Just take it step by step and you won't get into trouble. The hard part is detailing like they cry out for.

Thank You 2whl I realised I am an idiot and had the bulkhead the wrong way round, I did however after careful studying have issues with the right side radiator, part f17 was different to the image in the manual, spent half an hour trying to figure it out. Any which way but loose i couldnt get it in. Agreed on the detailing, it s been a while since i built one of these and lots of memories are starting to flood back on what not to do to mess it up. Really appreciate this thread.

Glad this one is back on the bench, looking forward to this one progressing. I like the eyelets, they look pretty good at intake trumpets.

Exhaust has been assembled. Now I just need to paint them. Distributor on and wired. You'll noticed I abandoned the ferrules for the stock velocity stacks. The ones on the right side were gong to interfere with the bodywork. The clear fuel line that came with my kit has hardened up to the point that it would not co-operate with me. So I got out some of my alternate stuff to make the fuel lines. 3565
