So, finally I got started on my first ever kit. I decided for my self that I want as many Arie Luyendyk cars possible. So I started with the March 86c from Hasselhoff-Groenevelt Racing in 1/43. The kit is an SMTS one. Few parts, great to start with as a beginner. Got all major parts sanded and need some to fill up the body a little bit. Pictures tomorrow. First problem, there are no decals made by anyone. As I got myself an Alps printer I got started drawing them myself. Second problem, there are only a few reference pics available on the web where you can't see all sponsor logo's very well. So, if anyone has some reference pics for me. Place them here or just send me a message. Attachments:

Little problem is that they are all from the front besides one, but that one isn't very sharp. The eBay link is the Lola T900, not the March.

So, little update from my side. As I said in another topic, I am looking to get all Luyendyk's Indy 500 cars. The first one that's not available as a regular diecast is almost completed. Thanks to Michael's (Indycals) decals it's looking stunning. With some help from some great forum members over here I have the 89 decalset completed now and it will be printed somewhere this month. Together with some other things. A picture how the model looks atm. Cause of the flash of the camera you can see the black decals good. But with regular light it looks spot-on. And here a picture of the already build T89. Here a little overview of the artwork for the 1985 car. A pain to get all logos, but they are almost finished. Got already started with all sets that aren´t made by Michael, one has some more progress then others. For more views, please send me a message. All photos of Arie´s cars are welcome too.

That's correct - the 1985 car was a very dark blue with all the markings in beige, whereas from 1986 to 89 the Provimi cars were black. The blue is very much like the dark blue that Wolf Racing used in F1, so I suppose that Tamiya must make a paint that matches. I was at the race and took quite a few photographs of the car as I want it for my own collection too! I know Jan has made the decals to fit the Ampersand T900, and it should be a quite spectacular looking car. Bo

Thanks for the nice messages guys, it sure helps to get the other cars made! Expect some nice photos when the car is finished.
And yes, my decals for the 1985 car are made for the 1/43 Ampersand T900 kit. In addition to this I got some nice photos of the car from Bo.

???Wow! that is nice. That really inspires me to build some of my old kits that have unusable decals. That is the most amazing first 1/43 build I've seen.

I've got all things covered now for the 85 car of Arie. Also finished decals for his 84 CART debut car at Elkhart Lake. To expend my Indycar collection, I also want to add the cars of Jan Lammers who drove in a number of different cars in 85/86. The decals for the Forsythe/Jiffy/STS Lola T900 car are complete. But I am also looking for photos of the March 85 of the Sattelite Systems team and all the different 86 cars. Lammers drove in the Gurney Eagle all races but under different sponsors. A view of one of the cars, unfortunatly you can't see the whole car.

So, finally an update in this topic. I reworked the 1985 decals, Bo concluded that the lines where to thin. Last testprint of this weekend should confirm they are ready to print. Also worked on the 1991 car. Removed (almost) paint from it and used putty to fill up the big side holes the Onyx has. I am reworking a new front suspension in Illustrator, after that it can be etched. Also drilled a hole in the rollbar because it was closed. I think i'm going to grind it off because I am not quite happy with it. Also, got the decals some time ready now. But I wait till I got the car in a more progressing state.

What color have you decided to use for the 1991 RCA Lola? If I recall correctly the Vince Granatelli team used the fluro STP 'red'

What color have you decided to use for the 1991 RCA Lola? If I recall correctly the Vince Granatelli team used the fluro STP 'red' I don't know yet, I was wondering too.. maybe someone else can shine a light on this? I have a spraycan fluor red from Motip I will use for the M@r1b0r0 F3 of Jos Verstappen. But I don't know if that comes close. Wow, just... WOW! This is great stuff. Who is printing your decals!? AND... might I buy 1/43 sets you're doing as well? I can share everything with anyone else, that's not a problem. But I didn't found someone yet that could print my decals spot on. Most of the times the colors don't come out great when I got them printed. That's a bummer if you see how many hours I've put into it. And that's probably also the reason my many creations haven't been printed yet.

I got rid of my ALPS a few months ago, I loved it - but could never get it to print right from with CS5 or 64-bit Windows and was tired of the process. I'm sure we can find someone to help becasue I have some projects too!

It's been way to long posting something, but I was not a builder myself actually. Seen all these beautiful builds coming by I knew I had to take some action. Had a airbrush bought last year and fired it up a month ago. After some testing and more testing I was satisfied to try it on an actual model. Here are the first results. Here you can see both the Road Course and Indy version of Arie Luyendyks T93 in red. The black needs to be done. Donor cars are 2 Al Unser Minichamps in 1/43. The decals are from Indycals. Hope to show some more progress later on.

Thank you guys. Enjoying all kind of builds over here. So, the black is on also. And really happy with the results. With a spraycan I already tried it a number of times to get these results but it never turned out how I wanted it to be. Next plan is putting the decals on, but I think there are a few problems to fit it on these 1/43 Minichamps cars. For the Indy 500 version the decals are to big for the rear wing endplate. Any thoughts on this Michael?

Thanks Bo, but I respayed the car bodies. I was not satisfied with the black on the car and the red was less bright then the wings. In a few days the black goes back on, done the red again today.
