Okay the field is set - time to predict! Put them down in writing now so you look really smart next week when it all comes true!

I'll give my top 3 in two categories, Sentimental and Actual.
Sentimental Top 3: 1) Marco (yeah I know most of you hate the Andretti's but I don't)
2) Ed Carpenter (I'd love to see Sarah win this so her newborn has real reason to drink milk)
3) Simona, just for being tougher than nails
Actual Top 3: 1) Scott Dixon, of the top teams, Target had the least problems with speed
2) Dario, Ditto above
3) Helio, a new 4 Time winner on the 100th anniversary

Heart picks:
1) Tracy (a great last hurrah for the Thrill) 2) Simona (a gutsy racer - gotta love her) 3) Townsend (paid his dues and drives for Sam) 4) Tags (see above) 4) Ed (also paid his dues and drives for Sarah)
Head picks - with some heart:
1) Dario (I know he drives for CG, but he's a racer and a fan) 2) Will Power (a racer for sure) 3) Dixon (Zzzzzzz - boring!) 4) Helio (despite his flaws, he's magic at Indy)

Well I sucked at this last year, but here goes again...
1)Dixon--Chip will "fix the gas problem" and he looked super fast 2)Dario---see above 3)Weldon---I know, I know; he's been away, he's not on a top tier team etc. HOWEVER, he always seems to be up front at Indy no matter who he drives for.
I will be at THE RACE after a road trip with a buddy:2 days to get there, 2 days of Indy, and 2 days home. Will be seeing much of the good 'ole USA through my windshield. Will take helmet for tornadoes and boat for flooding just in case... Tim

I'll be rooting for Graham and Charlie, since my dad's working for Ganassi II this year. But I'd like to see Buddy Rice do well too.

I heard Power talking about how hard it seems to pass this year - I hope this year is not a processional!
Going up a Mears fan, I became a Penske fan so I'd love it for Helio to get #4 or Will Power to become immortalized in silver. I'm not a Ryan Briscoe fan but I guess a win by him wouldn't hurt my feelings. Wouldn't be surprised to see one of the Target cars win (Dario would be my preference).
But if the #3 or #12 can't win, what I would love is a darkhorse to come out of nowhere.
I hope it is just a great race!

I would really like to see a green and yellow car (or cars) do well this year.

If it has to be Penske or Ganassi, I hope it's Helio or Dario. But I'm really hoping it's Tags, Bell, Rice, Wheldon, Carpenter or Kanaan. ... Or Hunter-Reay, just to see a total melt down in the fan community

Interesting that some do not like Scott Dixon, he is a New Zealander, we are a laid back race of achievers, so he may appear boring when he is actually very focused. Anyway, he is a really good guy, but it is your right not to rate him.
While a win by Penske or Gannassi teams is something that most don't want, the fact is if those teams were not in the series, you probably wouldn't have a series left, and the USA needs a strong open wheel series or everybody will only have taxi cabs left to drive.
I would love to see a small team win with a USA driver.

I believe Dixon is the favorite and has been strong all along but my heart hopes, for selfish reasons, that Servia can take the day. I am Oriol's spotter.
Dark horse? Also a pick with my heart is TK. I just hope, as always, that the first lap or two is incident free and they can spread out and start racing for the long haul.

I'd luv to see Tags or Bell win for Schmidt and for a change in Victory Lane. But, my head says one of the CG cars, most likely Dario.

I was thinking about the years ending in 1 for the last few decades: 2001 Helio wins first of his three (to date) 1991 Mears wins fourth 1981 Bobby Unser wins third 1971 Al Unser Sr wins second of four 1961 AJ Foyt wins first of four even 1941 was Mauri Rose's first of three Not that it is a rule but it seems the big winners have been won in these years. So does that mean Helio and Dario are favorites in the 2011 race? Jordan

This would be a great time for a woman to win the 500, it could be a good PR catalyst for the event and the series.
