Well the racing seasons are all done - Vettel and Franchitti are happy while everyone else has to step it up for 2011. The next racing seasons are still months away so let's get building.
The intent of the Build-O-Rama is to pick up an open wheel kit and build! Post the WIPs and finished builds in the special Second Annual Off Season Build-O-Rama section. All completed builds will be archived to commemorate your accomplishment once the B-O-R is complete.
Here are the requirements: - You can build in any medium you want (plastic, resin, metal) - The build must be finished and posted by March 13th 2011 - The build must not have fenders! Open wheels of any type are welcome IndyCars from all eras/sanctioning bodies, F1 cars, short track monsters, etc as long as it is *open wheeled*
Pretty simple, we just want you guys to enjoy building a car from this niche that we love so much!

Oh yeah! almost forgot about the B-O-R!
But I have one suggestion, I think for anyone wanting to do the B-O-R should require a fairly detailed WIP that was started during the B-O-R time period.
It makes it more interesting when everyone has a WIP going on instead of people dropping in a finished build out of nowhere.

New builds are preferred - the original B-O-R called for new builds only but people started sharing old builds they were just finishing up. Since the premise was to get people building, we didn't want to be rule nazis and exclude people - this is just a hobby site after all. WIPs are definitely strongly recommended ;D as we try to encourage fellow builders to break out that kit they always wanted to build someday. Today is someday boys, LET'S BUILD!!

OK Guys I have been thinkin hard here!! Yeah It Hurts when I do that.... I am going to start a kit I have waited about 15 years to build a Wave 1992 Arrows/Footwork Fa 13 F1 car. Its a curbside resin and metal kit I bought and never attempted to do. So Dont worry about super detailing,,, well maybe just a little...LOL Chris

Sorry to hear about your divorce Russ, feel free to do a simple build or whatever if you find the time and space to do it in.

I think? I'll enter my Chaparral 2k's into the B-O-R? I need to redo one and just build the other two. For being one of my favorite cars you'd think I'd have them done? LOL But I do have some interesting plans for them I'd like to build Al Unser's #2 - JR's Indy winner W/ removable engine cover with engine detail (Maybe?) and build JR's #1 last win 2k car?

I'll be building my first model in 8 years or so and it WILL be a Revell midget! Can I exclude the trailer or do I have to build all of the contents in the box?

I have a couple underway (McLaren M7, BT33, Larousse LC90)so will not use those, but I several 1/20th and 1/12th kits F-1 in the stash, so I'm in!
Do you want pics posted of "on the Tree" and then progress shots? When do we "start"?

Start now, just post build photos along the way. We want you guys to have fun building and by posting the builds, get others excited about pulling out the plastic and paint again!
This is not rigid - just get out and build!! ;D Let's have some fun!

I think this years B-O-R might get a 2 week extension? With the possible cancellation of the F1 GP of Bahrain.

I'd be interested if only we have at least 10 others to agree so.
I'd have to say there really hasn't been very much in the way of WIP's lately on this forum. It would be great to have a number of WIP's going on, just to give us something good to talk about.
