I just got this FW19 the other day.... I've always liked the Rothmans cars from the mid 90's. At this point Im really not to sure which decal layout Im doing? But I know one thing is Im not going to be using those dumb ? marks! A lot of people dont care about the 1/24 Revell kits but they dont bother me, I kinda like to build something easy once in a while to take a break from the hard ones. ;D The only thing a person has to worry about with these Revell's is the body work. 80% of the time will be doing body work. So the first thing I did was tossed the instructions out of the way and start gluing the body together. Why? To get rid of those seams. Then use that good old body filler to solve the seam problem. More later......

Calvin, What body filler do you use? Thanks.

Calvin, What body filler do you use? Thanks. John Bondo that comes in a tube, which I shouldn't use. Because it will sink if you dont give it enough prep work. Its best to get stuff you have to add the hardener to. Dont use air dry stuff. ( I set a good example now do I?) LOL ;D

Alright Calvin!
Back at it again! I thought the model machine was slowing down, but as my wife always points out to me, I'm wrong again!
The best filler I've found is Milliput fine. It's a two part filler that you knead together. It takes on a whitish-gray color. What's nice about it is that it is like clay. You can shape it, sand it and it is water soluable for up to about an hour to two hours. Which means you can smooth it in with a little water on your finger so that there is not as much sanding. You can paint it without any problems and it does not shrink over time.

Alright Calvin! Back at it again! I thought the model machine was slowing down, but as my wife always points out to me, I'm wrong again! The best filler I've found is Milliput fine. Yep, trying...I got busy with some side jobs and other non model things and I should be able to get something done here in the near future. I'll have to get some of that Milliput. Thanks for the tip. The way I'm currently doing it is slowing me down. But I'm still learning...

Next: I sanded down the body filler. Then primed.... After that dried I spayed some Tamiya white on the air box....then taped it off to get it ready for some TS-15 Blue. After that I cleared it with Tamiya clear. While that was drying I already had the wings painted and ready for decals. Then I wet sanded body.... Up next is decal time!

Decal time.....These revel decals are very.....very time consuming! But they look good! and... I'm using Indycals for my Rothmans fill in's This front cockpit white decal will be a tough one! I'll keep at it. (Which is soaking in decal solution.) BTW after I get this front decal on I'm covering over that dumb ? mark with a white decal.

More decals on...... the small decals are not hard to do... Now this is what the car actually looks like at this time, all the other threads were done days later of were I actually was. I thought I would mention that before someone thought I was a machine or something! LOL ;D

I thought I would mention that before someone thought I was a machine or something! LOL ;D Aaawwww Calvin! You're ruining my expectations of you! I always thought of you as the modeling machine man. It's like finding out that Santa Clause isn't real and that there's really no Easter Bunny. What's a person to do! ;D

, I have to say, Not many people show the decal process and what it looks like when you put on the Solvaset..Its scary isnt it??...Chris I usally dont show the decal process because it usually takes me no longer than 3hrs to do. But on this one I had to because, just to do the first white decals on the thread above this one took alllllll day last Sunday and yes the Solvaset can scare the hell out of a person! LOL
Would this be the right stuff?
I prefer the superfine the best. It's a little more expensive but I believe it's worth it. cgi.ebay.com/Milliput-Superfine-White-Two-Part-Putty-8-10-/270626778494?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f029ced7eA little bit goes a long way. I always mix up too much. I ususally end up searching out a resin kit in my inventory and fill in the small bubble holes, that most resin kits have, with what I have overmixed! If you check out the WIP of the Budweiser Lola you can see some of the small places I used it. It fills nicely and once set, about 24 hrs., sands and shapes easily. As you can also see it paints nicely and doesn't shrink over time. Jim

I've looked at the Milliput before, but never knew anyone who used it, so I never screwed up the courage to buy it. I was a devotee to Tamiya's polyester putty for years, but no shop in my area carries it now.
Great work!!

Calvin: I'm singin' "Back in the Saddle Again" for you...THE MACHINE is in the house! You like to build something "easy?" I'm like Michael, those Rev/Germ kits are a "beeatch!" What did you do, WELD the rear wing on? Did you use a GALLON of decal solvent to make them lay down? Those kits are tough, and as usual, you make it look easy...Beautiful work, my friend...makes me want to light up a Rothman's (even though I've never seen one)... Tim

I also took a current HD picture! New Picture Old Picture Point and shoot picture... HAHAHAHAH! and I thought it was good! isn't that sad? LOL
