HI Calvin, Thanks for the gerat WIP! It really inspires me to get to work on mine. I will do that once my Grand daughter is out of the hospital. Testors Competition Orange is the same color as Coyote Orange. FoMoCo used that name in later years for Poppy Red, so the two are pretty much interchangeable. Don't know why a lot of people think it is a red, I have the real Poppy (red) Orange in a quart can and saw Factory Ford race cars painted with it in 1965....... (that's a whole 'nuther story!) Mongo

This is my favorite Indy car. Excellent build! Is this kit still available?

This is my favorite Indy car. Excellent build! Is this kit still available? The kit is a Bill Jorgensen Resin Kit and is presently unavailable. Jim

Thanks Jim. I guess the Carousel 1/18 scale version I have will have to do for now.

The Carousel is definately out of production, but if you have one that's great! You can find either Carousel or Jogensen's kits on ebay from time to time if you're willing to pay the money! KG also made a vac-u-form/resin parts of the car, but I don't believe it's worth the money or the effort.

All I can say is excellent. I'm going to have to put my Duesy aside and get the Coyote out!
And enamel is fine on lacquer as lacquer gasses out quickly. Lacquer on enamel is risky and will easily damage the base paint.

Jim, I do have the Carousel 1 version of the Coyote. I'm not big fan of vacuum formed bodies, the detail is pretty weak on those type bodies. Thanks for info.

The end result is beautiful. Too bad there's never been an injection molded kit of this car. It deserves one due its place in history, and it wouldn't be impossible to make the entire series of similar Coyotes that AJ used for 3-4 years from a good kit. But again, your model looks great !

One question, may I ask what you used for the screen across the front of the car? Jim I second this
