I had one when I was a kit and rolled across the kitchen floor so cool and neatly, then if stopped just lie the real one.
I was in a phone conversation back in 1990 with a guy who is now on this forum, about selling one of my four MPC 1/20th scale STP Paxton Turbine car kits to him. I hadn't let him know I was going to sell it too him yet, when the conversation took an odd turn. I asked him if he was going to build it, because the decals were and are trashed to tell him he could get a replacement sheet from Fred Cady, (Who was at the time, the only one doing Indy Car Decals)...To which he replied, "Oh I'm not going to build it, This is for my collection!" I decided right then and there, no way in hell was I going to sell it to him and I didn''t. I sold it to someone else who built it and did a damn good job on it.
Models aren't worth a thing unless they are built with passion. This 1/12 Bandai probably went to some collector who will open the box, shut it, and place it on a shelf until the schmuck dies, then will go to another collector. Sad when you think of it really.
BUILD THE KITS!!!! That's way they were made in the first place!
