I've been an Alonso fan in the past, but I just can't root for him in a Ferrari. I suppose Vettel is my pick for the top step in Bahrain.

The 3 new teams in practice were off the pace by a significant amount. Bruno Senna drove the Hispania (HRT) car 11 seconds behind Nico Rosberg, who was fastest so far. The other HRT didn't even make a lap.Senna was the first to get the HRT any laps what so ever today...just wow lol

AFAIK Red Bull still has Adrian Newey so I think they have more than just the ol' mo' on their side.
Not sure who I'm going to root for!?!? I just want some good racing.
The 2010 season has good story lines even if USF1 doesn't make it: -Button at McLaren -Can McLaren and Ferrari rebound from '09? -Schmacher is back -Alonzo at Ferrari -New F1 teams -Can Braun/Mercedes and Red Bull sustain their '09 form? -Who will take care of the championship?
I think it will be a great season!!

I love Mclaren's Innovative thinking with that air bladder system.... They are channeling the air through the monocock to control the downforce on the rear wing when there on the straight. Did you guys see that? I should say thats what the TV fokes at Speed think thats what Mclaren is doing?

Yea it's a great innovation for an F1 car.Now if it really works I'd like to know haha Vettell took pole....not exactly what I'd like to see but least Massa bounced back and so did Alonso.

Well, I wonder how all of this is going to unfold? Its looks more and more like a Ferrari day. I was hoping Michael S. would get the understeer fixed but I guess not? The top cars seem to be very close in times.....just wait 'tel a few races in when they start figuring things out, then it will become closer. Just to be a good sport, I'll pick Alonso to win. Button 2nd Massa 3rd Dont ask me why because I'm just guessing ;D

I would have thought that starting with 300+ lbs of fuel on the soft tires was wrong, but what do I know. The race should be interesting. I think it will a tossup between Red Bull, McLaren, and Ferrari. We will see. Take Care Craig

No surprise that all three of the new teams were well off the pace. The new section of the track looks like it is going to wreak havoc with the cars and drivers. They didn't do a very good job making it smooth did they? Should be a strategy-packed affair on Sunday.

I was wondering how much Ferrari were "sand bagging?" Kinda hard to tell since Vettel had that problem with the exhaust.
What is the penalty for changing the engine? I'm behind on things.

What is the penalty for changing the engine? I'm behind on things. The teams are allowed eight engines for the duration of the season. If they exceed that they are "heavily penalized" to quote Steve Matchett. G

I don't think the 2 types of tires alone create enough strategy. The rules F1 had last year I was happy with. But I dont know what to think of this year yet?

I think it's gonna be another year of boring F1 racing. I bet this refueling ban was Uncle Bernie's idea.... idiot.

I liked F1 when there was no refueling so I'll reserve judgment on it for now.
I thought the race yesterday wasn't that great but I'm hoping for more as the year progresses.

Personally when I read the rules and saw the refueling ban....I thought omg how many ppl will run outa fuel in the race!! lol but surprisingly none did (or at least we were'nt told haha) It's nearly impossible to make F1 raceable so call it.Every year something has been done to try to improve the passing of cars...it'll always be that way too.

I guess Mercedes has been working away on M. Schumacher's car to get rid of the understeer, by some Wind tunnel work. I wonder if Michael will out do his Teammate in Australia?

Its going to be one of those years were if Vettel doesn't break, he'll win. Lots of clean passes in the whole race! It was fun watching the big boys threading there way through the field! I was very surprised to see no rain today. I just wonder if Lewis Hamilton started up front if he had something for red bull? Alonso had a up and down day to say the least, which going up thought the field with no clutch! To bad his engine went south. I just wonder how in the world are these teams going to get away with using only 8 engines this year?
