Russ Looking at a few old issues of MRRN that I got from scalecentral, I noticed ads from a company called Front Motor. I have never heard of them, and have never seen any of the kits. My questions are, 1 were the kits any good, 2 who was or is this guy, and 3 what happened to them? Take Care Craig

Well Craig........long story
Front Motor Models was Gary Doucette from Canada. His kit ran from good to not so good and a bit crude. Gary and Bill Jorgensen were competitors for a while and Bill got better. Gary offered full kits though and I have a few left. Gary just disappeared after selling his molds to a real dirt bag that will never produce them again. His kits ran from he 1937, 38 and 1941 winners, (WAit......DrDave is cleaning those up and may repop them...better!), Epperly Roadsters to modern stuff like the 1990 Lola, 1991 Penske and his best kit, the 1995 Raynard. Gary supplied decals for his kits and they were okay at best. Gary was a good guy and I wish him the best. His wife answered his phone the last time I tried to reach him, said "He's no longer living here!" and hung up....That is all I know of Gary since then. Chris Etzel did me a dirty trick by saying Gary, whom I had never met in person looked like Cosmo Kramer from the "Seinfeld" show. We were sitting having lunch at the Speedway Motel Cafe and in walks a shorter version of Kramer....it was Gary. I almost spit my Diet Coke out......Gary was one funny guy.
Best to you!
Russ
P.S. - I have a few Front Motor Models if you are interested
