Jorgensen 1948 Novi Grooved Piston Special

Firstly I have to say thank you to Mark (indydog). He was kind enough to meet me at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum and sell me this kit. This is one I have wanted to build for my Dad for a good while now, and was almost resigned to not finding one. Secondly photos to follow my rambling, as usual. Had a lot of help on this build as well.
The old Jorgensen kit is straightforward enough. Fill in bubbles and do clean up was first up. I got that done and then primed it and painted it with Ace Hardware Antique white. I went back and forth several times on what color cream to use but am happy with that choice. I added buttons to the leather seat insert as there weren't any molded in. This was achieved using my friend alwaysindy method of styrene rod inserted into the body and sanded down. I didn't consider how much they would widen out during sanding and probably should've gone down a size but I'm still happy with them. Thanks Tim. Axles are made of aluminum tube, the twin drag links are brass rod. I used sheet styrene for the dash and added some gauges and bezels. And some more aluminum tubing was used for the exhaust. My good friend jamesharvey was kind enough to cast me some brake calipers and send them to me, as there were none in the kit. And finally the wheels were made for the car by Fernando Pinto. Pricy, but worth it, in my opinion. At least on a build like this one that I really wanted to look right as a gift. This wasn't the easiest build I've done, but I enjoyed it and I know my Dad will love it. Thanks again for the kit Mark!
